An economist working as a Senior Policy Advisor with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, he holds a PhD in Commerce and Business Studies from the Jamia Millia Central University at New Delhi. Additionally, he is a Post Graduate Diploma holder in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management (IRMA), Anand, Gujarat.

Rajesh Chakrabarti, the Executive Director of Bharti Institute of Public Policy, is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the Indian School of Business. He has previously taught at Georgia Tech, USA, and University of Alberta, Canada and has held several visiting positions including at the ISI, Delhi, IIM, Calcutta, and the Federal Reserve Bank, Atlanta. He has published in international research journals in Finance, Economics and International Business; has authored or edited six books, including the recent, Bihar Breakthrough and several book chapters; and is a columnist for Financial Express.

Wilima Wadhwa is a Director of the ASER Centre. She has been associated with ASER since its inception in 2005 and is responsible for its sample design and the processing of ASER data. Dr. Wadhwa earned her undergraduate degree, with Honors in Economics from Delhi University, MA degrees in Economics from Delhi University and University of California, and her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California. Dr. Wadhwa has been published extensively and teaches statistics and econometrics at the University of California (Irvine), and the Indian Statistical Institute (New Delhi). She has also been a member of various government committees, including the Working Group for the Revision of Wholesale Price Index Numbers, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Dr. Wadhwa’s other research interests include development and economics of education.
